Evening Tour to Torcello with Dinner at Locanda Cipriani

IPEG delegates and guests will tour the famous Lagoon of Venice with Dinner on the island of Torcello.  On the way to Torcello we see the island of Murano and Burano. The tour ends at the magic island of Torcello and tour and dinner at the famous Locanda Cipriani Restaurant. Locanda Cipriani designed as a rustic maison d’hote combines simple elegant furnishings with polite service and culinary delights based on typical Venetian dishes created the “Cipriani way.”

Farewell Lunch

Please join the IPEG leadership for a farewell luncheon at the close of the 14th Annual Congress of the International Pediatric Endosurgery Group.

This informal luncheon gives delegates an opportunity to interact with the leadership, spend time with new and old friends and say farewell to the wonderful island of Lido Venice. 


Guest Activities & Tours

Tennis courts and open air swimming are available on the grounds, a separate pool for children and a private beach equipped for all water sports is also available. Golf Club Venesia (18 holes) is nearby. Launches to/from the historic center of Venice available are close at hand. Organization of and guides for excursions are available.for Venices many sights including St Mark’s Basilica, the Grand Canal, the Ducal Palace, The Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Palazzo Grassi, and the Bridge of Sighs. Boat tours of the Palladian vills and trips to the islands of the Lagoon (Murano, Burano and Torcello are available as well as shopping.

Organized Sightseeing

Venice, this unique city in the world, invites you to catch a glimpse of either her famous and unusual sites, by reserving these tours especially prepared for the Conference attendants and their accompanying persons.

Reservation should be made by 15th May 2005, together with full payment of all reserved tours for the total number of persons. All Tours here described will be operated with a minimum of 20 participants.

Departure for all tours will be from the embankment located at the Lido of Venice, called Darsena del Casinò, adjacent to the Congress Centre.

Historical Venice

€47,00 per person inclusive of authorized guide, private boat transfers, entrances.

Departure by motorboat from Lido to Venice: with a short walk you will reach St. Mark’s Square, visit the famous Basilica, Doge’s Palace (where the elected Doges lived and governed) and the Bridge of Sighs. Back to embankment, our private boat will take you to Lido. (Tour lasts approximately 3 hours)

Old taverns: Venetian “bàcari”

€50,00 per person inclusive of private boat, guide, wine tasting in 3 different taverns.

Before dinner, a tour of town wandering through the maze of unknown alleys with stops at old taverns for wine tasting. (Tour lasts approximately 3 hours)

The Islands of the Lagoon
Friday, June 3, 2005 – 09:00
€43,00 per person inclusive of guide, private boat transportation, entrances.

A motorboat ride to the most famous islands of the lagoon. On the way you will see the island of Burano, where each house is painted with a different colour and famous for its lace making. Tour will then continue to Torcello, the first island inhabited by Venetian people fleeing from the Barbarian invasion, where you will visit the 11th Century ncient Cathedral. The visit of a Venetian glass-blowing factory, in Murano, with a demonstration of this unique art, will complete the tour before returning to Lido. (Tour lasts approximately 4 hours)
