IPEG Registrants:

Attend any portion of the SAGES scientific session (Friday & Saturday) for only $100. Check the appropriate box on the registration form for entrance.

Who Should Attend?

The 15th Annual Congress of the International Pediatric Endosurgery Group (IPEG) has elements that have been specifically designed to meet the needs of practicing pediatric surgeons, urologists & other related specialties, physicians-in-training, GI assistants and nurses who are interested in minimally invasive surgery in children & adolescents. The IPEG Program Committee recommends that participants design their own attendance schedule based on their own personal educational objectives.

Accreditation:

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. SAGES designates this Continuing Medical Education activity for:

In Category 1 of the Physicians Recognition Award for the American Medical Association. Note: each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

2006 Meeting Goals:

Best Basic Science Award:

The new Best Basic Science Abstract Award will be a cash prize of $1000 to be presented during the Thursday session of the Abstract Presentations. The Award recipient will be selected by the program committee. The IPEG Executive Committee is committed to education and feel this is a very concrete way to express that commitment. Award recipient must be present to receive the award.

IRCAD Award:

As a result of a generous grant provided by Karl Storz Endoscopy, the Best Resident abstract presenter will be selected by the IPEG Executive committee to receive the 2006 IRCAD award. The award recipient will travel to Strasbourg, France to participate in a course in pediatric minimally invasive surgery at the world famous European Institute of Telesurgery. This center, on the campus of the University of Strasbourg, is a state-of-the-art institute for instruction in all aspects of endoscopic surgery. It is now providing a series of courses in pediatric surgery under the direction of Dr. Jacques Marescaux and Dr. Francois Becmeur.

Photo Exhibition

ANNOUNCING THE FIRST-EVER IPEG PHOTO EXHIBITION!

We are challenging all IPEG attendees to show us your hidden, artistic talents in…photography! Whether you have a photo you have taken on vacation, or if you’re just a shutter-bug, we want to see your favorite photo! All registered meeting attendees are welcome to enter. Photos will be on display all week during the meeting.

To participate, please adhere to the following contest rules:

  1. Up to three photos allowed per registered attendee.
  2. Both black & white or color photos are welcome.
  3. In order to assist in the display process, all photos must be matted. Mat size is limited to 11x14 inches.
  4. Photos should be mailed to the IPEG office with the accompanying entry form. The entry form can be found at www.ipeg.org/photo
  5. Send us the best photo you have ever taken, anytime, anywhere! Non-medical subjects, please.
  6. All entries must be submitted directly to the IPEG office and received by March 31, 2006.
