You are invited to submit abstracts for oral, poster and video presentations to IPEG’s 17th Annual Congress for Endosurgery in Children, June 13-15, 2008 at the Hilton in Cannes, France. This is a multi-discipline pediatric endosurgery congress, and abstracts of all pediatric endoscopic specialties are welcome. Authors may choose from the following categories: Basic Science, Thorax, Gastrointestinal & Hepatobiliary, Robotics & Emerging Technology, Urology, Interventional Radiology, Tracheal (Airway), My Favorite Tricks and Miscellaneous. However, the Program Committee reserves the right to allocate the category of each accepted abstract in the final scientific program. The official language of the congress is English.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION JANUARY 11, 2008
Abstract submissions will be accepted online. Authors may indicate their preference for presentation format on the submission form, and the Program Committee will take your preference into consideration. However, the final decision will rest with the Program Committee. Video authors must also mail their video to the IPEG Office in addition to submitting on line. Videos should focus on new aspects concerning operations, techniques and tricks. Videos sent to the IPEG Office are for review only and will not be returned to the author. Papers previously presented at another meeting may be submitted to the IPEG 2008 Congress so long as that work has not been previously published or accepted for publication. We do not accept previously published or accepted papers for publication. All Abstracts must be submitted in English.
All authors will be notified by email in February as to the status of their abstracts. Accepted abstracts will be published in the June issue of the IPEG official journal, Laparoendoscopic & Advanced Surgical Techniques. All authors are strongly encouraged to submit to IPEG’s journal. Authors who submit a manuscript must do so by May 9, 2008 to receive expedited review and be published in the IPEG issue of the Journal approximately 3 months after the congress. Papers submitted after May 9, 2008 will not have expedited review.
IPEG Sponsors the Best Basic Science Abstract award in the amount of $1,000 US dollars to be presented during the meeting. It is based on a blinded review and will be selected by the IPEG Program Committee. Award recipient must be present to receive the award. Karl Storz supports the IRCAD Award in basic science, for a fellow to travel and participate in a course in pediatric minimally invasive surgery at the world famous European Institute of Telesurgery, located in Strasbourg, France. Those interested in being considered for either of these awards must so indicate during the online submission process.
We encourage everyone to submit an abstract, whether or not you are a member of IPEG.
