You are invited to submit abstracts for oral, poster and video presentations to IPEG’s 22nd Annual Congress for Endosurgery in Children, June 17-22, 2013, at the JW Marriott, in Beijing, China. This is a multi-discipline pediatric endosurgery congress, and abstracts of all pediatric endoscopic specialties are welcome. Authors may choose from the following categories: Basic Science, Colorectal, Gastrointestinal & Hepatobiliary, Thorax, Urology, Robotics, NOTES®, Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery, Cool Tricks, Troubles and Complications in MIS, and Miscellaneous. However, the Program Committee reserves the right to allocate the category of each accepted abstract in the final scientific program. The official language of the congress is English.
All abstract submissions MUST be submitted online. Authors may indicate their preference for presentation format on the submission form; the Program Committee will consider your preference. However, the final decision will rest with the Program Committee. Video authors must also mail their video to the IPEG Office in addition to submitting on line. Videos should focus on new aspects concerning operations, techniques and tricks. Videos sent to the IPEG Office are for review only and will not be returned to the author. Video authors are encouraged to submit their videos to Videoscopy, the official video journal of IPEG. Papers previously presented at another meeting may be submitted to the IPEG 2013 Congress, providing that the work has not been previously published or accepted for publication. We do not accept previously published or accepted papers for publication. All abstracts must be new and original content OR include at least 50% new data, if previously presented at a meeting. All Abstracts must be submitted in English.
All authors will be notified by email in late February as to the status of their abstracts. Accepted abstracts will be published in the April issue of the IPEG official journal, the Journal of Laparoendoscopic & Advanced Surgical Techniques. All authors are strongly encouraged to submit to IPEG’s journal. Authors who submit a manuscript must do so by (extended to) Monday, April 1, 2013 to receive expedited review and be published in the IPEG issue of the Journal approximately 3 months after the congress. Papers submitted after April 1, 2013 will not have expedited review.
All accepted videos are encouraged to submit their videos to Videoscopy (http://www.videoscopy.com/), IPEG's official video journal.
IPEG Sponsors the Best Basic Science Abstract award in the amount of $1,000 USD to be presented during the meeting. It is based on a blinded review and will be selected by the IPEG Program Committee. Karl Storz Endoscopy supports the IPEG IRCAD Award for the best manuscript submitted by a junior faculty. The IRCAD Award winner receives travel and registration for a course at the world famous European Institute of Telesurgery, located in Strasbourg, France. Those interested in being considered for either of these awards must so indicate during the online submission process. Those interested in the IRCAD Award must submit a manuscript by the (extended to) April 1, 2013 manuscript deadline. All award recipients must be present to receive the awards.
